With no major tournament in which the general public can watch England bravely whimper out of this summer, more than ever the focus will be on following transfer news while the Ashes are on.
Indeed, in some cases it has already begun, with clubs reaching out early on to try and get major business done.
It might be due to a contract wrangle, it may be down to the difficulty in trying to spring a player from his club, but the fact of the matter is that some transfers just take a while.
And here are the ones that we fear could drag on way into the summer?
Raheem Sterling
Reuters
Wanted by: Arsenal, Real Madrid, Bayern, Manchester City
And so it sparked a sequence of events where the England man could be available for a bargain price with his contract running down and a handful of wealthy suitors.
It's your classic contract-wrangle saga, where "footballing reasons" collide with financials and usually end in either a big move or an awkward reconciliation under a shower of bank notes and regret.
At some point this summer we'll see Sterling grimace while signing on a dotted line - where it is we will have to wait to find out...
Gareth Bale
Alex Caparros
At a stretch: Man United are one of the few teams that could afford to buy Bale
But that would be to underestimate Gareth Bale's desire to stay in Madrid and his political role in the marble corridors of the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has aligned himself with Bale, backing himto be Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement as the club's big star, and Perez is nothing if not stubborn.
Juve seeing the back of him? Paul Pogba could be leaving Turin
Possibly the most complete midfielder in world football, Pogba appears likely to come on the market this summer and his raft of suitors are determined not to miss out on the rare opportunity to pick up someone of his skill set.
The France midfielder is always going to have a certain lure for Manchester United, who saw him walk away for nothing when Juventus nicked him on a Bosman, but it islocal rivals City who are likely to lead the bidding.
It is said that the player would prefer Real Madrid, but equally that could just be Mino Raiola at work, with the Monaco-based agent yet another reason why this is a story that could run and run.
And with Raiola also trying to find Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new home there are more strands to this one than it first appears with PSG potentially looking for a new centrepiece for their project.
David De Gea
Action
Holding back: De Gea has still not extended his United contract
David De Gea was born in Madrid, his family lives in Madrid, his girlfriend lives in Madrid and he is wanted by a club from Madrid.
David De Gea has one year left on his contract, he has been offered what amounts to a blank piece of paper embossed with 'name your price' on it and has still neglected to extend his current Old Trafford deal.
Real Madrid, arguably the biggest club on the planet, are in for him, United appear tohave already signed a replacement and the notorious Jorge Mendes is the key cog in negotiations.
In the cold light of day, these are facts that make Manchester United fans fear the worst.
There is still a chance that United could hold onto him, and they will grip on for dear life until he has put pen to Spanish paper - meaning this one is set to run and run.
Morgan Schneiderlin
Rex Features
Second time lucky? Schneiderlin will look to get his move this summer
The Southampton midfielder wanted to leave last summer but was talked down off the ledge by Saints and had another impressive campaign.
While not a jaw-dropping season, he did nothing to put off potential suitors and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to work with the Frenchman again.
But he is not alone, for there are a glut of teams looking for midfield reinforcement that aren't equipped to eat at the top table where people are offering the likes of Paul Pogba £300k a week.
Schneiderlin is an acceptable step down from that elite group and is entering his prime. Arsenal are known long-term followers of the Saints man and have needed midfield steel in each of the last four or five transfer windows.
Francis Coquelin's emergence may have altered Wenger's thinking slightly but with Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta being courted by La Liga clubs there is an obvious opportunity to drop a new, younger face in there.
Spurs meanwhile are favourites as they look to remodel their side more in their manager's image.
This saga is likely to be stretched out by the fact that it features two eternal rivals desperate not to be outdone by each other, and an agent that will be keen to take advantage of that.
Have you ever wanted to change your voice while making videos? Or just change the voices in an existing video? You are not alone. Here are some questions people have asked on Yahoo Answer.
Is there any free software you can download that can change your voice in an audio or video that has already been recorded?
Hello, I'm making a video. I want to change my voice pitch high, low, fast, slow. I want to know if you know any software that is easy and simple. Thanks
Now comes the solution. I recommend Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor), a comprehensive video editing software that's not as expensive as Adobe After Effects, but is also not free ($39.99). We'll show you how to change a recorded voice or original voice in an existing video/audio with Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor).
Step 1: Add voiceover or add videos
Wondershare Filmora (originally Wondershare Video Editor) allows you to change voice of video/audio and recorded voiceover. You can either click "Import" on the primary windows to import video/audio files to the User's Album, or click the voiceover button above Timeline to record your own voice. The imported video/audio files could then be added to the Timeline for editing, while the recorded audio would automatically appear on Audio track.
Step 2: Change voice with one click
Every time when you double click on the added video/audio or recorded voiceoveron the Timeline, you will open the editing panel. You should see options such as Speed, Volume, Fade in, Fade out and Pitch.
Pitch Option
Both video/audio files and voiceover on the Timeline have the Pitch option. Through it, you could easily change the voice of video or recorded voiceover. Just drag the little triangle button to a desired position. The value will vary from -12 to 12.
Speed Option
As you could see, there are 4 settings for the Speed option. The Video Speed option will take effect on both video and audio track you selected. For music files and voiceover, the Speed option also works but only affect the audio itself.
Step 3: Export changed video/audio
When you are satisfied with the changed voice, it's time to save the video or audio. All popular video formats and MP3 audio formats are supported. To do so, click "Create" and select "Format". From the list, choose a format you want and click "Create" button. The file will be exported to the specified folder on computer.
Tips: Always preview your video/audio on the preview windows to ensure it's what you want before exporting.

Cristiano Ronaldo has donated 7million euros to help Nepal aid effort, according to reports from France
French sports magazine So Foot says Ronaldo has given money to charitable organisation Save the Children
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has donated 7 million euros (£5m) to help the aid effort in Nepal, according to reports in France.
French sports magazine So Foot said the 30-year-old forward handed the sum of money to the charitable organisation Save the Children, which is helping survivors of the earthquake that struck the Asian country last month.
Last month Ronaldo also called upon his vast Facebook following of over 100 million people to donate to the children's charity.

It is by no means the first charitable act by Ronaldo, who is believed to have paid for a 10-month old boy to have brain surgery last year.
And in 2004 he flew to the aid of Indonesian tsunami victims after he saw footage of a young man wearing a Portugal shirt with his name on the back.
On the pitch, Ronaldo is preparing with Real Madrid to face Valencia in La Liga on Saturday night, before the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Juventus on Wednesday.
Ronaldo scored in the 2-1 first-leg defeat in Turin, leveling after former team-mate Alvaro Morata had opened the scoring, before Carlos Tevez scored to give Juventus a lead.
